Naomi Dell

Naomi is a passionate and driven person.  Born in Cambridge, England she started riding at an early age first in pony club, and then graduating to 3 Day Eventing.   In her teenage years, she regularly represented her school in the Schools Show Jumping National Finals at Hickstead. She found she had a natural affinity for teaching when she started coaching, around the age of 15,  local kids on her own pony, which she had grown too big for. Her passion for riding continued right through school and into her gap year when she decided to move to Banff, Alberta to ride in the mountains. There for two summers,  her riding took her into guiding trail rides for tourists around Banff and venturing off on multi-night pack trips into the back country. It was here that she met her husband Troy.

Originally, she thought her journey in the horse world would continue through studying veterinary medicine.  She left Canada to begin her studies at Massey University in New Zealand. However, her love of riding and coaching pulled her back to Canada to become a working student for Tricia Dahms at Sandridge Stables. It was under the mentorship of Tricia that she truly learnt the art of dressage and coaching students in the sport she loves.  

 

Naomi has focused her life on riding, training horses, coaching and competing. She has worked her way through the levels to achieve the goal of riding in international FEI competitions with her own self-trained horse and becoming an EC registered coach.  When Grey Horse Farm started with just a few students asking if she could fit them in around starting her family in 2015, she never imagined it would grow to the level that it has!

It is with excited anticipation that Naomi begins her journey of operating a barn of her own;  taking over the tradition of excellence in coaching and rider development that Tricia Dahms started with Sandridge Stables, and transitioning it to be the home of Grey Horse Farm.
